A Creative Office Paint Session in Loganholme: Painting Our Pets

Recently, I had the pleasure of hosting a beautiful private office event in Loganholme, where five lovely ladies came together for a relaxed and creative paint session with Painted Social.

This particular session was one of our custom pet portrait experiences, which is one of the most personal and creative painting options we offer. Every guest paints their own furry friend, which means no two paintings ever turn out the same.

Preparing the Pet Portraits

To make the experience as smooth and enjoyable as possible, I pre sketched each of the pets before the event. This ensures that everyone arrives to a canvas that’s ready to go, allowing them to focus on the fun part bringing their pets to life with paint.

When preparing the sketches, I include guidelines for shadow areas, fur placement, and key facial features. This helps guests capture the personality of their pets while still making the process beginner friendly.

Pet portraits can feel intimidating at first, but with the right preparation and guidance, they quickly become one of the most rewarding paintings to create.

Painting With Personality

Because each guest was painting their own pet, the session became incredibly personal. From fluffy ears to expressive eyes, every painting reflected the unique personality of the animals they love.

During the session, I guide everyone step by step while also moving around the room to help each person individually.

For the backgrounds, guests are encouraged to choose something simple and minimal so the focus remains on their pet. A few of the ladies chose solid colour backgrounds, which looked beautiful and really made the portraits stand out.

Others decided to reference their photos more closely and recreate details from the original images.

Painting Directly From Their Pet Photos

One surprise that the group really loved was that I had printed their pet photos for them to use during the session.

This allowed everyone to paint directly from the reference image, making it much easier to capture the colours, markings and little details that make their pets unique.

It also meant they didn’t have to rely on their phones while painting something that made the experience even more relaxed and enjoyable.

A Beautiful Set of Finished Portraits

By the end of the session, the results were incredible.

Each painting was completely different, yet every single one captured the character of the pets beautifully. Seeing everyone step back and admire their finished artwork is always one of my favourite moments.

It was such a fun, relaxed afternoon filled with creativity, laughter, and lots of love for some very adorable pets.
