Paint Your Pet Night at Miami Marketta

Recently, we hosted one of our ticketed Paint Your Pet events at Miami Marketta on the Gold Coast, bringing together a wonderful group of animal lovers of all ages and painting abilities for a creative and rewarding evening.

From proud dog owners to devoted cat lovers, every canvas told a different story, and it was such a fun experience helping everyone bring their pets to life through paint.

The Venue: Miami Marketta

Miami Marketta provided the perfect setting for the event.

Known for its vibrant atmosphere, great food, and community feel, it created a relaxed environment where guests could enjoy a night out while trying something completely different.

As guests arrived and found their seats, they were greeted by custom sketches of their pets waiting on their canvases ready for the painting session to begin.

The Pet Sketches Were a Huge Hit

One of the biggest highlights of the evening was seeing everyone's reactions to their personalised pet sketches.

One guest loved her sketch so much that she joked she wanted to take it home exactly as it was without even painting it.

Seeing those reactions is always one of my favourite moments because it instantly creates excitement and helps guests connect with their artwork before the session has even started.

Every sketch represents a much-loved family member, so there is always a little extra emotion involved compared to a standard paint and sip class.

Every Pet Is Different

Teaching a Paint Your Pet class is quite different from our regular paint and sip sessions.

With a traditional paint and sip, everyone is creating the same artwork and following the same steps.

With Paint Your Pet, every canvas is completely unique.

Throughout the room we had different dog breeds, different coat colours, varying lighting, and completely different facial features to work with. Some pets were dark coloured, some were light, and every painting required a slightly different approach.

This means I spend a lot of the session moving around the room, offering individual guidance and helping each guest tackle the specific challenges of their pet portrait.

It's one of the things I love most about these classes because every person receives personalised support while still enjoying the fun and social atmosphere of a paint and sip event.

The Crowd Favourite

While every pet was adorable, the crowd favourite on the night was definitely the Cavoodle.

It's always fun seeing which pets become the unofficial stars of the room throughout the evening.

A Focused but Rewarding Session

Compared to some of our more social party-style events, Paint Your Pet nights tend to be a little more focused.

Many guests become completely absorbed in their artwork as they carefully work through each detail of their pet's face.

Some participants took the process very seriously, while others preferred a more relaxed approach, but everyone worked at their own pace and encouraged each other along the way.

The atmosphere was calm, creative, and incredibly supportive from start to finish.

The Playlist Earned Some Compliments Too

While everyone was busy painting, our playlist quietly helped set the mood for the evening.

A few guests commented throughout the night about how much they were enjoying the music, which is always nice to hear.

The right playlist can make such a difference to a paint and sip event, creating a relaxed environment where people can focus, chat, and enjoy the experience.

Leaving Proud of Their Artwork

One of the best parts of any Paint Your Pet event is seeing the finished paintings at the end of the night.

Many guests arrived feeling nervous about whether they would be able to paint their pet successfully, especially those with little or no painting experience.

By the end of the session, the majority of the class left feeling genuinely proud of what they had created.

Seeing that boost in confidence is exactly why I love hosting these events.
